It was announced recently that London’s daily newspaper, The Evening Standard, would cease daily publication and change to printing weekly and focus on digital-only delivery. I met this news with considerable sadness as I have very fond memories of the Evening Standard. Another London institution changes beyond recognition. 

I was still a fresh young traveler to Britain when I bought my first Wellington Boots. I didn’t learn about the famous boots until I started watching The BBC show called Countryfile. It’s a weekly dedicated to country matters all over the British Isles. I noticed that week after week, the hosts would be wearing weird rubber boots that said ‘Hunter’ on them.
