The Georgian Flat

I once stayed in an old Georgian terraced flat in the middle of the summer with a sick pregnant woman. It was… an interesting experience.

The flat in question was located somewhere…

Sunday Post: The AA Shelter and Member Update

A couple of housekeeping items for the club this week. There won't be an early podcast this week. In case you didn't see our updates on social media, Anglotopia was hacked, and the sites were down for several days. We've spent the last few days getting everything back up and running (this club is hosted by someone else and was not affected). Because of this, we were unable to release last week's…

Sunday Post: June 30th - New Member Discount and Going on Great British Railway Journeys

This week, we have an important update for members paying monthly and we have our first new discount exclusive to members for British wooden puzzles. Finally, this week, I have a Sunday Post slightly related to British elections, but I promise it's not political in any way. How do Victorian trains and the 1997 general election connect? I'm going to tell you! It's really interesting, I promise!

Sunday Post: The End of the Evening Standard

Editor's Note: This is an example of the Sunday Post article - Which will be sent to all Friends of Anglotopia members every Sunday.
It was announced recently that London’s daily newspaper, The Evening Standard, would cease daily publication and change to printing weekly and focus on digital-only delivery. I met this news with considerable sadness as I have very fond memories of the Evening Standard. Another London institution changes beyond recognition.

Sunday Post: Wellington Boots

I was still a fresh young traveler to Britain when I bought my first Wellington Boots. I didn’t learn about the famous boots until I started watching The BBC show called Countryfile. It’s a weekly dedicated to country matters all over the British Isles. I noticed that week after week, the hosts would be wearing weird rubber boots that said ‘Hunter’ on them. I’d never seen boots like them before (we have…
